When the idea for this book came I realized pretty quick that this would be a tale of forgiveness and learning to love oneself. Both of these characters grow so much during it, and hopefully are better because of their journey. I cried all the ugly tears at the end while writing it. Apparently it hit a little too close to home for me. And I cringed so much during the massive mistake Lord Hamson makes... but he certainly made up for it in the end. Again, this is all about forgiveness and learning what true love really is. I hope you love this book as much as I do.

This is yet another charming Regency by Jenni James. The characters are so much fun to read! Lord Hamson is an adorable character, fun loving, but has a bad habit of saying things before thinking them through. Even while his heart can’t let go of the girl he fell for four years prior, he keeps being reminded of society’s expectations, namely that he must marry a debutante, and not a widow. Catherine may be a widow in the eyes of society, but her marriage was certainly in name only. Humoring a friend, she returns for the London season, and immediately reconnects with the man she still harbored in her heart. But while her heart still longs for Lord Hamson, and she enjoys their easy friendship, she doesn’t believe she could ever be worthy of marriage. Not only is this a fun story to read, and the connection these two have is so enjoyable, their banter witty and fun, while also showing their deep connection, but my favorite is the deep message in this book. Catherine is a woman whose past haunts her, who has slowly become what others told her to be. It’s a great message for anyone who’s had a difficult past, that anyone can be redeemed, and everyone can find love.

I don't think this book was as good as the first one this author wrote along these lines but I liked it okay. It felt a bit silly at times and not quite believable but it was diverting and a quick escape. Fluffy for sure.

I keep searching for squeaky clean romance novelists who aren’t condescending and who do not craft characters who wear their religion on their sleeves. How delighted to find Jenni James. I enjoy Regency novels and found this one to be an outstanding offering from that genre. I love how George seems to learn from his mistakes and adapts to Catherine’s needs. He eventually does the right things for the right reasons. This was a fast and delightful read that came to an end all too soon. Jenni James just got another fan. I look forward to read her works in other genres as well. Another delight from Jenni in the Regency time period. I love how she creates such unique story lines. This one had a modern story line--second chance at love lost, mixed with restoring the heroines belief in herself after a disastrous relationship. While in the contemporary genre this theme is overdone, it was new and fresh in Regency. Good job Jenni.

Lord Romney's Exquisite WidowWhen I saw Jenni's books she wrote I was intrigued by the twist on fairytales. I know this isn't the fairytale stories but this is the second book in the Regency Romance series. I know I usually love reading paperback books but I've started looking into e-books. There is loads of great deals and freebies you can have a taster of their work before you purchase more of an author's books. I've downloaded Amazon Kindle onto my phone, laptop and tablet so I can read while relaxing or on the move. So when I saw this book I thought why not read it as I do love my period stories as I have read loads of mills and boons in the past. It didn't take me long to read this book as it grabbed me from the first page. The story is about Miss Catherine Poleton she has to save her family by getting married to an old earl called Lord Romney became Lady Romney, the Countess of Huntingdon but before she has to marry him she nearly got married to Lord Hamson who really loved her but she just felt she need to do this to save her family finance. But sadly Catherine is left alone when Lord Romney dies. But Catherine is now widowed and people are soon to speak about who she going to next married and no man would want to marry her. She gets invited to stay with her stepson and daughter in law so while she staying with them she gets invited to some social events and there she sees Lord Hamson. But Lord Hamson thinks he's moving on and getting married to Miss Hemming. He keeps denying he still loves Catherine and when he sees her he can't get her out of his mind. When Catherine sees George all the emotion and love for Lord Hamson comes flooding back. Through the book you so want them to admit their feelings for each other. Will they admit to their feelings for each other and will they get married? If you love your period stories and love stories this book is well worth reading. Thanks for reading. xxlittlerayofsunshinexx.blogspot.co.uk

This book was good not great. After Lady Romney's husband dies, an Earl old enough to be her Grandfather, Lady Romney waits the year of mourning before being coerced into going to London to finish the Season. She really doesn't want to face Lord Hamson, the only gentleman she has ever loved, after she cast his aside to marry the Earl, Lord Hanson is not sure what he thinks of Lady Romney back in London. This story is cute and tells a tale of a lost love, which is rekindled again, it tells of forgiveness and misunderstanding. This was a clean read

Having read the first book in the series, I was expecting a light bit of romantic fluff from this one. It was certainly fluffy, but I was more frustrated with the silly characters than won over by any romantic plot. Maybe it's a lack of character development, maybe it's just kind of a weak premise, but I found myself rolling my eyes far too often at their antics. So many characters do an emotional 180 so quickly I'm surprised their heads don't spin off. Didn't like the hero, didn't care for the heroine, didn't fall for the plot. Rated 2 stars because 1 is just brutal.

Another beautiful book by Jenni James. I've been a fan of her writing for quite a while now and I've read nearly 20 of her books, each of them I loved! This is another wonderful book! The story is captivating and I loved the playful banter between the characters. I also loved the lessons that it taught about learning to love yourself, especially after you've been hurt, and about forgiveness. Her stories always have a beautiful way of winding their way into your heart. Keep them coming!!

I enjoyed this story so much. I wanted to shake Lord Romney for treating anyone the way he treated his second wife. But I loved the way it all ended up. This is a novella, so don't get too cozy. It doesn't last long.

It was cute. A little wordy at times. Sad how she felt. I didn't really connect with the characters. I would have liked a little bit more dialogue.

A fun fast read with likable characters. The ending was a little abrupt I wish she had put an epilogue in the book so we could have had more closure.
